Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

Jam and Compote making with the Plums from the Plum Tree..

Busy making jam and compote today as we picked 16lbs of plums from the plum tree this morning. Still more to do tomorrow.

Also we have to dig up the main crop potatoes as they are not looking too healthy and might have blight.

Typical allotment news - good and bad at the same time.

It has been a really difficult year weather wise and the only thing I can suggest to anyone losing heart -if they have similar problems through the weather is that each year is different and next year's problems will probably not be the same as this.
Last year was great for tomatoes - not so good this year.
This year we have a glut of plums ... you just have to go with what you are given I guess.
