Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

How to use the really tiny potatoes that you harvest

Even if you harvest your first earlies carefully, by unearthing them a few at a time and just collecting the ones that are large enough to have with salads; you will sometimes unearth and harvest potatoes that are too tiny to cook up for salads or to use as roast potatoes.

What can you do with the tiny potatoes that you harvest by mistake before they are large enough to cook in a the oven or in a saucepan?  The answer is that fried up whole these tiny baby new potatoes make a tasty treat that put ordinary chipped potatoes to shame. Just give these under-sized potatoes a quick wash and dry them, then pop them into a frying pan until they look cooked.  Delicious, and a great way to enjoy your new baby potatoes.
