Next year if I get a good crop of onions I hope to be able to make my own pickled onions for Christmas time, however this year the crop was nit good do i am using shop bought pickling onions ( why do I feel apologetic for that?)
Today I bottled the onions with the spiced vinegar and now all I have to do is wait; I am wondering have I made pickled onions that will be a hot topic with the family or will they be a none starter ? Only time will tell, I am pickling shallots as an experiment next.

Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables
We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.
Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.
