Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

The decision to buy first early and salad potatoes has been made..

Buying Seed Potatoes.

I am not bothering much with main crops this year, maybe just a few rows, the rest of my potato growing efforts are going to be focused on growing my favourite first early and also some second earlies too.

Two years of battling against the odds with the weather for the main crops and then a batch that were not really as good as I would like them to been, has made my mind up.

For me the joy in growing potatoes is in harvesting the new ones in the spring time and eating them with boiled with salads and roasted as baby new potatoes. More on  this topic as the season progresses.
