Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

Yesterday was a beautiful day for working on the vegetable plot.

Yesterday was one of the days when the weather was just right for working outside.

A day that was not too hot and not too cold, not windy or wet.

The wild plum trees that grow nearby were decked in dainty white blossoms and the birds were singing.

We spent about two hours working on the vegetable patch before returning home.

In the time that I had been busy, my washing had dried perfectly in the gentle sunshine. This made it easy and pleasant to iron the sheets and linen.
