Removing weeds from the onions, shallots and garlic that you are growing . You may need to do hand weeding rather than using a hoe close to these. It is easy to damage the growth of onions, shallots or garlic if you use a hoe, especially if they are planted close together or have grown intertwined with the weeds, so hand weeding may be the only way to remove the weedy competition for light, water and air.
Keep sowing seeds for crops that can still be planted.
Water your fruit bushes if you are having very dry weather, as the berries can drop of plants like gooseberries in drought conditions.
Make space in your freezer if you can, as if you get a glut of something later you may wish to freeze it down.
I am tempted not to say the obvious - water when necessary.
Check your compost heap from time to time and give it a turn over to speed up the composting process (by mixing the different ingredients and getting air to the heap).
That is all for now - happy growing.

Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables
We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.
