Often when we are working in the garden, mostly when working on the vegetable plot I can sense a difference in attitude to our way of working and tackling the tasks that need to be done.
Oddly enough it was a Christmas present that has solved the puzzle and put into words what the different approach is, indeed it has summed it up most succinctly.
He received a enamel mug with the quote on it that read - "Dig for Victory." and I got a cream coloured enamel mug the said " I garden therefor I am." Exactly summed up neatly in two short sentences, I am trying to encourage the garden to produce crops and he is trying to conquer the weeds and chaos.
Ah well - "I garden therefore I am." ..... until next time, enjoy the quiet time of the year for gardeners.

Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables
We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.
