Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

In the Winter the Composting Process will slow down ...

Even though the compost heap will compost down slower in the winter months there is no need to stop adding to it.  In fact the larger the compost heap the faster it will rot down, but the drop in temperature does slow the action.

January in the UK is a good time to start choosing/ordering the things you will need for the growing season. Now is a good time to make lists of what you wish to grow and to select which varieties and to order vegetable seeds and also seed potatoes.
