Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

This is when you begin to wonder if the weather is going to defeat your gardening abilities.

My onions and shallots where thriving in the dry conditions, my garlic was having a good year, until now.
Now I guess next time I venture onto the vegetable plot I will be looking for signs that the wet weather has affected them.  It could be that the wet weather has turned the promise of a good crop of onions and shallots into a year when I will have to purchase both with my weekly shop this year.

You can do all the right things but sometimes you need luck and the right weather at the right time.
