Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Read about growing your fruit and vegetables here on my growing your own food pages.

Waiting for Allotments, Home Grown Foods are more popular.

According to a newspaper report the amount of food eaten that was home grown or on allotments has increased. That is the good news, unfortunately the number of people waiting for an allotment is incredibly long.

In inner London some people on waiting lists for allotments are facing a 40 year wait, maybe you put your name down for your grandchildren to get one ?

They also estimate that there might be up to 150,000 with their names on a waiting list for an allotment.    The figures are for 2011.
