Growing Your Own Fruit and Vegetables

We grow our own fruit and vegetables for our meals for as much of the year as we can. Without a greenhouse we have to buy shop food in the winter months but in the spring, summer and autumn we often have enough to share with family and friends.

Our Own Grown New Potatoes look like they will be ready to harvest later than other years.

If like us, you planted your seed potatoes late because of the weather conditions in the spring, this year you may have to wait longer than usual to see the potatoes on your plot begin to flower. The plants are looking healthy and we have lots of green foliage, just no signs of the flowers yet. Which means our own grown first early potatoes, may be a little later in reaching our plates this year. Never mind, they do say good things are worth waiting for. Experience has taught us that harvesting and serving your home grown food is always going to be affected by and depend on the weather conditions that you get each year.
