A new Compost Bin finished this week gives me hope for future soil improvements...

How to make a fruit and vegetable grower happy?  Build her a new compost storage bin! It does n't get more exciting than that on allotments at this time of year. The last few autumn raspberries are being picked and by working together the plot is now looking in the best shape it ever has. I have high hopes for increasing the production of fruit and vegetables from the plot next spring and summer now as we have nearly finished clearing all the unkempt and wild problem areas.

Still my favourite thing at the allotment at the moment is throwing 'stuff' that others consider rubbish into the newly built compost bin - and anticipating digging out lots of compost in the future to nurture the soil of my plot.

New blog here,  I am putting together information to show how easy growing your own vegetables can be.  It is the preperation of the land that you are going to grow on that will require the most effort or in some cases hardwork (if it has been a neglected plot ) .

 This is spring will be my third 'growing season' on my allotment.
